I just joined the online writing/reading platform, Novelo and entered their September challenge. To win, I need reads and follows. (Sounds familiar, right?)
The Novelo September challenge begins with the sentence, "She couldn’t remember how she got here."
As I am a huge lover of thrillers and mysteries, I jumped right in and wrote "Dead Memories." (The working title was "Forget to Remember", and yes, those are both homages to songs by Slipknot and Mudvayne. What can I say, I'm a lifelong metal girl. \m/)
I don't know how accessing links via Novelo looks to folks without an account, but the signup process was pretty seamless, so if you need an account to read "Dead Memories", I'd be much obliged if you took the time to do so.
Here is a little teaser:
Frightened and alone in the woods, Leslie has no memory of how she got there. Until sinister recollections of her sadistic ex come flooding back to her, with the added realization that she has done something horrible to stop him once and for all.
